Buhari holds maiden presidential media chat Wednesday

President Muhammadu Buhari will hold his maiden media chat on Wednesday at the State House, Abuja.

Sources at the Villa said the chat, slated for 7pm, would be aired live on some television and radio stations as well as other platforms.

Mr. Buhari has come under severe criticism lately due to his frequent patronage of foreign media since assumption of office on May 29 this year.

The president often made important policy statements whenever he travels on official engagements outside the country.

It was observed that during the past administration, Nigerians were asked to forward questions to the president or call the chat room, but the telephone lines were perpetually put on busy mode, while the questions sent through social media platforms were hardly considered.

It is not clear if the media chat by Mr. Buhari on Wednesday would accept calls from the public, apart from a panel of journalists.

Photos : Nigerian Student Killed over a Zimbabwean girl In Cyprus, By Other Nigerians

The story is a bit weird and a little confusing.

According to reports from other Nigerian students in Cyrus, Ebinabo Mendeinyo (pictured left) was allegedly stabbed to death by other Nigerians in Cyrus on Dec. 26th at his student apartment.

The initial story was that he jumped from the 6th floor of his apartment building out of fear when the boys came to confront him, but the Cyprus police have ruled that out after they found stab wounds on his body.

Jerry Udumioh, aka MC Jerry, a popular comedian and event host (pictured right in handcuffs) was the first person the police arrested in connection with the murder according to a source.

Ebinabo is believed to have been stabbed multiple times by about six boys.

They allegedly first drove to his friend’s house, kidnapped him and forced him to take them to Ebi’s house.

They made him knock so that the victim would open the door without suspecting. When Ebi opened they door, he was allegedly stabbed and his throat slit.

The reason for the murder hasn’t been made clear but a source said the fight started the previous day at a Christmas party and it was over a Zimbabwean girl and some folks feeling disrespected.

Someone got stabbed at the club that night, and the fight was taken to Ebi’s house the following day.

Jerry has been charged with ‘trespass’, kidnapping and serious assault.

Police Arrest Soldier, Others For Selling Weapons To Robbers

The Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Monitoring Team has arrested a serving Lance Corporal in the Nigerian Army, Emmanuel Ebo, alongside seven others, for allegedly selling ammunition to a notorious gang of armed robbers, which attacked banks in Lagos and Ogun states respectively.

Others arrested include: Ahmed Monsuru, Bayo Olaoye, Olamilekan Omopeji, Ayodeji Famileye, Opeyemi Balogun, Michael Adebayo, and Edward Paul.

Ebo was arrested by the team at his base in Maiduguri, Borno State, while the other suspects were rounded up in various hideouts in Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo states.
The lance corporal, who had reportedly confessed to the crime, was apprehended by the team, led by CSP Abba Kyari, after the police informed the Department of Military Intelligence on the development.

Six automatic pump-action rifles, a pistol and some cartridges were recovered from the suspects by the police team.

It was learnt that the lance corporal, while transporting the weapons to hoodlums from Borno to Lagos State, concealed them in food items, adding that upon receiving the weapons, the robbers would credit his bank account.

Ebo’s arrest, alongside others was confirmed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olabisi Kolawole, adding that investigation was ongoing on the matter.

Fun seekers flee as Hoodlums invade National Theatre on Christmas day

As throngs of people celebrated Christmas at the National Theatre,Iganmu,Lagos ,Suspected hoodlums on Friday invaded the premises, disrupting the peace of fun seekers .
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN),many people who had come to the premises to spend the Christmas day lost their valuables during the incident which occurred between 4.30 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The venue suddenly became chaotic as members of the public, who had come for relaxation and sightseeing took to their heels following the activities of the suspected hoodlums. But the Police at the National Theatre Post eventually apprehended some of the suspected hoodlums.

Mr Philip Patrick, a 19-year-old student, told NAN that he just saw people running all over the premises of the theatre.

“I came here with my siblings to spend the Christmas day. “We were having a picnic sort of, and all of a sudden, we saw people running in different directions; we also saw a `danfo’ bus move speedily around the complex. “No one could really explain exactly what was happening but we had to run for safety first.’’

Patrick said that there were many pickpockets around.

“There are also a lot of pickpockets around harassing fun seekers. “One of them took my camera but returned it immediately when I saw his hand coming out from my pocket. “I also saw the same man take items from other people,’’ Patrick said.

Mrs Anabel Gbenro, a teacher, said that the incident was terrifying.

“I have come here with my family to give them a tour of a historic place in our country.“The next thing we saw was people running to different directions. “It is annoying that hoodlums are roaming everywhere here taking items from innocent people who are trying to relax their nerves. “The security should be tighter; the police should increase their surveillance,’’ Gbenro said.

Miss Precious Ukawuike, another fun seeker, said that more should be done to restore the glory of the theatre.

“We cannot even go inside the theater; on a day like this, we cannot go inside to see how it is. “It is sad that a lot of our young generation, especially those living outside Lagos do not know what the National Theatre is. “I also think that people with demeanor which are visibly questionableshould be further scrutinised by security agents to prevent them from harassing harmless citizens,’’ Ukawuike said.

He wants to be licking my private area when am on my period. I first thought he was joking then he got angry and said am judging him, that his ex allowed him to do it. Because I love him, I allowed him a few times, but I used pillow to cover my face because I was shy and didn’t want to see the blood.

I know he won’t see this because he is an older guy and not an online person, but I am now scared because he counts my cycle every month and am thinking it’s spiritual. Please help me ask people if it’s normal because now I am really getting uncomfortable with this incredible act. Please what should I do? He is very nice to me though and gentlemanly and I really love him.

Ex-Russian agent claims Putin planted the jet bomb bomb that killed 224 Russians

A former Russian agent has come up with a bizzare theory about the bomb laden Russian plane which killed  224 Russians in Egypt was planted by Russian Prime Minister himself Valdimir Putin.Boris Karpichkov, a former spy with the KGB (later renamed the FSB) who now lives under a new identity with his wife and family at a secret location in England after fleeing here in fear for his life.

His sensational claim at first seems unbelievable. For he maintains it was the Kremlin, not ISIS, that deliberately blew the plane out of the sky.

And he says Putin cynically authorised the tragedy not only to obtain worldwide sympathy at a time when Russia was being treated as a pariah because of its aggression towards Ukraine, but also to gain support for its ostensible belligerence against ISIS, which Putin would use as a cover to attack rebel groups in Syria who were sworn enemies of his ally President al-Assad.The major claims his information comes from a general lieutenant in GRU (one of Russia’s numerous military intelligence wings).

This man told him, he says, that around the time of the plane’s crash, Putin had been expressing his concerns to Kremlin allies about ‘possible losses of political influence’ in Syria and the Middle East. Putin, he went on, was worried about the fate of his traditional ally in the region, President al-Assad, given the West’s support for rebel groups trying to depose him.

A plan was allegedly hatched by officials within GRU to reverse Russia’s declining influence in the region and — as Major Karpichkov claims he was told by a senior source — to ‘kill two rabbits with one bullet’.

The aim was to get ‘at least silent international approval’ for massive military operations against Assad’s enemies under the guise of a campaign against the IS terrorists blamed for bombing the Russian passenger jet; and to bolster Russia’s multi-billion-pound weapons business with the Middle East.

This was all summarised in a dossier compiled by the former KGB spy: ‘In order to accomplish all these aims and to get Western consent to fighting Islamic State (which was, essentially, official support for keeping the Assad regime in power), the Kremlin desperately needed the kind of justification which would generate worldwide attention and full international sympathy and approval for military action.’The file states that Russian intelligence ‘geniuses’ in GRU outlined a plan to Putin and his closest aides to bomb a Russian airliner and blame it on Islamic extremists ‘to initiate enormous international hate towards ISIS and to create international sympathy to act on its own without any limits or reservations (for military action).’

A specialist in ‘wet-jobs’ and other forms of espionage was despatched to Sharm el-Sheikh, where hundreds of thousands of Russians holiday each year to escape the cold. Posing as a fighter who was recuperating in the Red Sea after serving in Ukraine, the agent befriended a young Russian woman staying in the resort, and began a holiday romance. When the woman was due to leave for St Petersburg, the Russian agent gave her a ‘present’ — asking her to deliver it to his parents at home in Russia — and escorted her through the notoriously lax security at Sharm el-Sheikh airport before she boarded the doomed Metrojet flight in the early hours of the morning…

The gift, says Major Karpichkov, was a bomb and the detonator used to ignite the explosives was known as an EHV-7, which is produced exclusively for special forces soldiers. The device itself looked like a piece of plumbing tube, which is primed to explode by an electrolyte ‘bath’ slowly corroding a metallic wire, which detonates the bomb once it is broken. The explosive material was — sources add — cyclonite, an enormously powerful substitute for TNT.

It has been suggested that the bomb was most likely placed under the seat 30A or 31A. Plane records show that seat 30A was occupied by Nadezhda Bashakova, 77, from Volkhov in St Petersburg region, travelling with her daughter Margarita Simanova, 43, who sat in 30B. In seat 31A was Maria Ivleva, 15, also from St Petersburg region. Could this young woman have been be the unwitting carrier of the bomb? She was with her mother Marina Ivleva, 44, who occupied seat 31B. My sources say the bomb carrier was older, and sitting nearby.

Mother cries out as husband who raped their daughter walks-free(Photos)

Two months after a 37-year-old mechanic, Thompson, sexually abused his daughter till she lost her voice, the victim’s mother has raised the alarm that the authorities had released the man without prosecution.

Thirty-two-year-old Funmi told Saturday PUNCH that she and her children had been living in fear of what Thompson might do to them for causing his woes.

Thompson was arrested  in October when Funmi alleged that her husband had on many occasions raped their four-year-old daughter, Rebecca, in their home in Igando area of Lagos.

She alleged that apart from having sexual intercourse with the little girl on several occasions, she had caught her husband inserting his finger into the private part of the girl more than once, all of which had traumatised Rebecca to the point where she could no longer talk.

For reporting the case, Funmi and her children were allegedly threatened by her husband, forcing her to move out of his house.

Funmi said,

“With all that he did, I thought he would face the law. I thought he would be prosecuted for the abominations he had committed.

“Now, I look over my shoulder anytime I walk on the street. I always tell my children to be careful too. Who knows what he is planning against us?

“I fear for my life and that of my children now. After he was released, he went to the school of my children and attempted to take them from there, but the teacher did not release them to him. I did not even know he was released until they told me he visited the school.”

She said Rebecca is gradually regaining her voice. Funmi, who alleged that her separated husband was diabolical, had explained that the sexual abuse of their daughter started when the girl was two years old.

She began,

“It started in 2013 when I suddenly woke up one night and saw my husband removing the panties of my daughter. It was in the midnight. I wanted to shout but I wanted to see what he was up to. So, I acted like I didn’t see him because the room was relatively dark.

“When he pulled down her panties, he looked around and when he felt convinced that everyone was deep asleep, he stood up and moved to where the girl was and dipped his hand in her private part. I screamed.”

The case was reported to the Lagos State Office of the Public Defender, where a lawyer was assigned to handle the case.

“I was surprised that he has been released. Nobody told me anything,” Funmi said.

She told our correspondent that efforts to get an explanation from the lawyer assigned to her case has been abortive.

Director of the Esther Child Rights Foundation, Esther Ogwu, who reported the case to the OPD, explained that the case might have been destroyed by the police when it was transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation in the state.

She said,

“I can say with confidence that the problem could not have come from the OPD because they don’t waste time in handling terrible cases like this.

“The police were the ones who released him without prosecution. They even called the woman a liar for reporting that her husband raped his own daughter when she was invited to come and give her statement.

“It is unfortunate the woman is no longer safe now. She told us that she now runs from one place to another in fear of her husband. I feel sad when things like these happen in our country and the culprits go scot-free.”

I gave my friend only one blow – Murder suspect cries out

Fatai Sabitu, a 19-year-old vulcaniser who was alleged to have killed his friend, Yusuf Sheu, says he punched him only once.

Sabitu, who hails from Abeokuta, Ogun State, explained that after the 38-year-old slumped, he rushed him to two different hospitals before he died.

According to PUNCH Metro Sabitu and Sheu,  had fought over a stolen phone.Sheu, a Kwara State indigene, bought a phone from the suspect, which was later discovered to have been stolen.

After the real owner took back his phone, the deceased was said to have demanded a refund of his money, which led to a fight.

The deceased was said to have slumped during the fight and was confirmed dead in a hospital.
The suspect was said to have confessed to police detectives that he killed the victim, adding that he acted in self-defence.Sabitu, a primary school dropout, told our correspondent that he was a victim of bad companionship.

He claimed that Sheu was the one who stole the phone, adding that after the owner found it and collected it back, the deceased attacked him.He said the deceased believed that he was the one who exposed him.
He said,

“We have known each other for about three years now. I am a vulcaniser, and he worked in a hotel. We lived within the same community. He used to drink a lot and he introduced me to a lot of bad things, like the tattoo in my arm.

“He had stolen a woman’s phone and I saw him when he took it, but I didn’t say anything. He went and used the phone to borrow money from one of his friends in the area.“The owner of the phone, who had been looking for it, later saw it in the man’s hand and picked a fight. The man then explained how he came about the phone.“The owner of the phone took it back, and Sheu was ordered to return the money he borrowed from the man.“He was angry and thought I was the one that exposed him. He came to meet me where I was and started punching me; I had to fight back. I only gave him a punch before he slumped to the ground.”

Sabitu said he took Sheu to a private hospital, where he was rejected.

He added that the victim was finally admitted in another hospital, while he left to narrate the incident to his (Sheu) family and bring them to the hospital.

The suspect said when they returned to the hospital, they could not find him and the hospital management told them some people had taken him away.

“After searching several hospitals in vain, I decided to return home. I saw his dead body in front of our house and some people started beating me. They drove the police away and were about lynching me when the Baale(community leader) came and drove them away. He took me to the police station.

“My life is ruined because I made him my friend. It was just a blow that I gave him,” he added.
PUNCH Metro learnt from a police source that the autopsy result was being awaited on the matter.

President Buhari Asks Nigerians Not To Lose Hope

President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians not to lose hope despite the current socio-economic and security challenges confronting the country.

He made the call yesterday in his Christmas message to Nigerians which he personally signed to felicitate with the citizenry, especially Christians, on the joyous occasion.

“Let us also not allow current socio-economic and security challenges to dampen our expectations for a better Nigeria,” the president said.

He said while his government had taken a number of measures to restore hope to the citizens; the 2016 budget defined his commitment to giving Nigeria a new lease of life.

The president also said that his administration’s “change slogan is not a campaign gimmick but a promise that must be kept”.

Buhari said his government was determined to bring about tangible changes in the lives of Nigerians.

In this regard, added, efforts would be intensified to recover stolen funds, block revenue leakages and enthrone due process, transparency and accountability.

Public office is a public trust that must be held to the highest ethical standards, he said.

He urged all Nigerians to re-dedicate themselves to the virtues of peace, love, honesty, justice, equity, piety, humility and service to others which Jesus Christ taught.

“There can be no doubt that a greater manifestation of these virtues and ideals in our lives will immensely help us to become a more united, peaceful, secure and progressive nation,” Buhari said.

The president also asked Nigerians to reach out in love and compassion to fellow citizens in distress at this period of the nation’s history.

He urged Nigerians to remember victims of terrorism and insurgency in the country, especially Internally Displaced Persons.

He said the Federal Government would continue to collaborate with state governments and other stakeholders to ease the harsh conditions in IDP camps, “while the ultimate objective remains to quickly put an end to insurgency and return the IDPs to their homes”.

Buhari also stated that “We must never again allow any group to hold the nation to ransom under whatever guise”.

While wishing Nigerians a Merry Christmas, the President appealed to them, “Please drive carefully”.

11 countries that banned Christmas in the past

Here are 11 other countries where celebrating Christmas is forbidden.

The tiny nation of Brunei went viral recently after king Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah made celebrating Christmas forbidden.

The Muslim nation stated that anyone illegally found celebrating Christmas, sending holiday greetings, or even wearing Santa hats could face up to 5 years in prison! According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, this law has been passed to make sure that ‘Christmas doesn’t damage the true beliefs of the Muslim community.’ India times reported.

But Brunei isn’t the only country where celebrating Christmas is illegal,  here are 11 other countries that banned Christmas in the past as compiled by India Times.

1. Saudi Arabia

Almost all Saudi citizens are Muslims, and although only a marginal number living in the country call themselves Christians, the country still does not allow anyone to celebrate the festival. Buying a Christmas trees at the local mall, even sending out Christmas cards could land you in trouble. In fact, in 2013, more than forty people were detained for “plotting to celebrate Christmas.”

2. United States Of America

Because America was largely led by the Puritans (a group of English Reformed Protestants in the 16th and 17th centuries who wanted to purify the Church of England from all Roman Catholic practices), the General Court of Massachusetts Bay Colony passed an order which said that anyone caught celebrating Christmas would be fined.

They felt that there was no reason for celebrating the birth of Jesus on the 25th. They even termed the holiday “Foolstide”. The ban was eventually lifted in 1689, but the festival wasn’t recognised in Massachusetts for almost 200 more years, until 1869. The India Times reported.

3. Tajikistan

Christmas is also forbidden in Tajikistan till now as the government has issued its toughest-ever ban on seasonal celebrations, banning Christmas trees and gift-giving in schools.

The country has been cracking down on Christmas and New Year’s in recent years, and banned Father Frost – Russia’s equivalent of Santa Claus – from television screens in 2013. Halloween celebrations in the capital, Dushanbe, have also been targeted by police, with revellers dressed as zombies and vampires reportedly being detained in 2013 and 2014.

4. Cuba

Fidel Castro played Grinch for Cubans for the longest time actually. During his time in power, any religious observations and celebrations were simply not allowed. He made sure Christmas wasn’t a holiday and asked the people to work on the sugar harvest instead. Thirty years later the ban was lifted on the 20th of December 1998, apparently after John Paul II urged Castro to rethink his decision.

5. North Korea

Forget celebrating Christmas, all religious practices that are not approved by the supreme leader are punishable by the law. There are no holidays in North Korea, except for the ones that celebrate the birthdays of its supreme leaders of course.

6. Somalia

Somalia has had a ban on the festival and New Year celebrations for the last two years, but they don’t shy away from announcing it every year just before the 25th of December just to make things loud and clear. Like Brunei, they too feel that Somalia is a Muslim nation and celebrating it might damage the faith of the young Muslims in the country.

New Vision reported that the, Director General of Somalia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs,Sheikh Mohamed Khayrow released a statement this year again reaffirming the ban. He said, “We Islamic Scholars are warning against the celebration of such events which are not relevant to the principles of our religion. Such events give also al-Shabaab to carry out attacks.’’

Al- Shabaab, a militant group in Somalia, launched a deadly attack last year on the main African Union (AU) base in Mogadishu as a Christmas party was going on. More than 5 peacekeepers and eight militants died in the battle which lasted for several hours, the daily reported.

7. Albania

Albania has predominantly been an atheist country. Since Christmas is considered as a religious activity, an official ban on it came into effect in 1967. Christians could celebrate and be merry, but only behind closed doors. In 1991, when the communist party fell from power, the ban was lifted and all was good again.

8. Japan

Technically, Christmas isn’t banned in Japan. Christians comprise less than 1% of Japan’s population, hence they don’t really feel the need to celebrate it. You might spot a Christmas tree randomly in someone’s home but since it’s not big with the people, their government doesn’t feel the need to declare it as a national holiday. So do not expect a day off for Christmas if you happen to be working in the country.

9. Germany

While Germany might now be famous for its incredibly extravagant display of Christmas celebrations, some cities including Solingen and Berlin did ban it back in the day. It is apparently because Christmas is looked at as a religious activity, and since their political party, the Greens political party, was a secular one, they believed that such events should not be happening in public places. Things went back to being normal soon.

10. Great Britain

The time was mid-1600s when Britain was heavily influenced by a certain political leader going by the name of Oliver Cromwell. As a puritan (a group of English Reformed Protestants in the 16th and 17th centuries who wanted to purify the Church of England from all Roman Catholic practices) he ‘hated’ Christmas and banned it throughout the country. His view towards Christmas was a bit warped in fact. He was totally in support of celebrating the birth of Jesus, but didn’t want people to indulge on food and drinks celebrating it. Cromwell was a bit of a hypocrite though, some say he would eat, drink, and enjoy other recreational activities himself.

11. China

The communist-ruled China has banned Christianity altogether. But that doesn’t stop them from celebrating. However, it is not as big an event as it is in the west. Due to strict regulations by the government, the locals can’t do most of the things, like singing Christmas carols in public.

Student arrested in Britain after she lied about rape so she could re-sit a ‘failed’ exam

A student who lied that she had been raped twice in order to re-sit an A-level after getting a low mark has been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment.

A student who lied that she had been raped twice in order to re-sit an A-level after getting a low mark has been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment.

Naima Shereen Mirza, 21, claimed she suffered two attacks five months apart by the same man.

But her ‘web of lies and deceit’ that cost thousands to investigate has landed her a two-year prison sentence.

When she reported the rapes she even named a man from Perth, central Scotland. However, that was her undoing.

Police knew that the man she accused was already in jail at the time the alleged attacks took place.

She was found guilty at Edinburgh Sheriff Court. Metro UK reported.

A police officer interviewing her said: ‘I had the impression it was very well planned. I didn’t see any real distress or anything like that.’

She eventually wrote to one of the officers in which she confessed: ‘Nothing happened. I went to the park and made it up. I wanted another year at school to get to Strathclyde University’.

She needed an A in chemistry to get to university but failed to get it so wanted to do a re-sit.

Sheriff Michael O’Grady told her: ‘In many years in these courts in one capacity or another, I have come across the whole range of hateful, hideous and downright bizarre things that people do to each other and the world at large, but I doubt, however, in all that time that I have encountered a course of conduct so strange, so needless and so hard to fathom as yours’.

He added: ‘It is also a course of conduct that is selfish, devious and persistent to a truly remarkable degree’.

Christmas: Ambode Urges Lagosians to Extend a Hand of Love to Each Other

As Christians all over the world join hands together to celebrate Christmas, Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has urged Lagosians to extend a hand of love to each other and live as one family.

The governor in his Christmas goodwill message said “The season of Christmas is one that exemplifies the virtues of love and peaceful co-existence. We must continue to extend a hand of love and live as one family irrespective of our creed or colour. We must also continue to respect each other’s right to live freely and peacefully.”

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Habib Aruna, the governor emphasised that the security challenges in the country shouldn’t be used to create division amongst ethnic and religious lines.

He said that over the years, Nigerians have always drawn strength from her diversity and everyone must stand together to resist any attempt by any individual or group of persons to exploit such ethnic differences to further their selfish ends.

He urged Lagosians to be security conscious as they move around to celebrate the holidays

100 Die, 60 Cars, 50 Motorcycles Burnt In Anambra Factory Fire

The gas plant explosion that happened yesterday in Nnewi, Nnewi Local Government Area of Anambra State, has killed no fewer than hundred (including some in their homes) people, wounded many, destroyed 60 cars and 50 motorcycles all together.

According to an eye witness, the fire which emanated from Inter Corp Oil Limited (LPG Gas Plant), was caused by an explosion that occurred when a truck was making an attempt to discharge its content without waiting for the mandatory cooling time while customers were refilling at the same time.

Others said some victims would have been rescued, but the fire went up so fast making rescue efforts almost impossible. The Police have confirmed the incident, and the Government have described it as unfortunate.

I Will Not Allow Boko Haram, IPOB, Shii’tes To Hold Us To Ransom – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday vowed to nullify any group that will want to threaten the peace of Nigeria.

“We must never again allow any group to hold the nation to ransom under whatever guise,” the President said in his Christmas message.

There has been an upsurge in the activities of separatist pro-Biafra groups, especially the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), which has coordinated protests in southeast state capitals and other places, calling for Biafra State and the release of detained underground Biafra Radio director Nnamdi Kanu.

Islamic Shiites and soldiers clashed in Zaria where they blocked a road on which Chief of Army Staff Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai was travelling. Many sect members were killed and their leader Sheikh El-Zakzaky detained.

Besides, the Boko Haram insurgency is still being tackled.

The President said: “I felicitate with all Nigerians, especially our Christian brothers and sisters, on the joyous occasion of this year’s Christmas. On this occasion of the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, let us all rededicate ourselves to the virtues of peace, love, honesty, justice, equity, piety, humility and service to others which he taught.

A greater manifestation of these virtues and ideals in the lives of Nigerians, he said, will immensely help Nigeria to become a more united, peaceful, secure and progressive nation.

The President also urged Nigerians to reach out in love and compassion to fellow Nigerians who are in distress.

He added: “I particularly urge you all to remember victims of terrorism and insurgency in the country, especially Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

“The Federal Government will continue to collaborate with state governments and other stakeholders to ease the harsh conditions in IDP camps, while the ultimate objective remains to quickly put an end to insurgency and return the IDPs to their homes.

“This administration has taken a number of measures to restore hope to our people. The 2016 Budget defines our commitment to giving Nigeria a new lease of life. Our change slogan is not a campaign gimmick but a promise that must be kept. We are determined to bring about tangible changes in the lives of our people.

“In this regard, efforts will be intensified to recover stolen funds, block revenue leakages and enthrone due process, transparency and accountability.

Stop using your kids to hurt your baby daddy-IK Ogbonna’s wife tells ladies

IK Ogbonna’s Colombian wife ,Sonia Morales shared some deep words for ladies who have fallen out with their baby daddies, and those who use their kids to hurt the men.(Could she be referring to his first baby mama?)

She shared this adorable photo of IK and their son, Ace and wrote
If you want your children to grow into mentally and emotionally stable people, don’t ever use your mouth to talk bad about other parent in front of them. Don’t use your kids as a weapon for revenge against other parent just because you are not getting type of love or relationship you want from them.If someone is a bad partner for you that doesn’t make him a bad parent.

Stop being selfish, stop using innocent kids to fix your own issues and deal with your own desperations, bitterness and failed expectations. Yes,you will successfully hurt other person because every normal parent loves his child, but keep in your mind that nobody will suffer and get affected more then your own kid.

Nowadays is so easy to switch things and make a man seem like a bad father even when he’s truly not just because you are not happy with him for different reasons.
My ladies, you are better than that.

Every kid deserves a healthy relationship with both parents.
Don’t deny them that right.

SHOUT OUT TO ALL AMAZING DADS OUT THERE! I see ya I hail ya!

The most precious gift I could ever give to my kids is choosing THE BEST DAD IN THE WORLD for them. The best choice I have ever made. You have to know this man personally to understand  #AcesFirstChristmasEve

Charlie Sheen Vows To Find A Cure For HIV

The 50-year-old star recently admitted he’s contracted the virus and although he was initially in a state of denial about his condition, Charlie has now turned his attention to combating HIV.
He shared: “I was angry. I was in denial. I was in shock.”

Asked who he was angry at, the former Two and a Half Men star told Radar Online:

“Myself, the world. But that didn’t last long. It was shortly afterwards – I think it was the second day – I said to my mom, ‘This disease picked the wrong guy.’

“If anybody can fight this thing and discover a cure, it’s me. I will exhaust every resource available to me. I will sit with every expert. I will move forward until something’s revealed.”Despite feeling angry about his situation, Charlie insists he has never considered committing suicide.

He explained: “I didn’t, no, and I never considered it before the diagnosis. I’ve never been that guy.
I’ve always said if somebody’s gonna kill themselves, they should jump off a building. It’s pretty sure-fire! Slashed wrists are usually just a cry for help.”
