The most recent report says that the 58-year-old comedian has received an invitation to return as a host of the 2016 Miss Universe pageant.
Steve Harvey is apparently going to host the 2016 Miss Universe pageant. In an interview on “The Jim Rome Show” on Tuesday, December 22, Mark Shapiro, Chief Content Officer at WME | IMG, which acquired Miss Universe Organization earlier this year, said that he wanted Steve to return to the beauty pageant next year as a host.
Mark said that the 58-year-old comedian was “very remorseful” about the flub and that Steve was “absolutely” welcome back to host the event again. The Chief Content Office said that Steve “did a great job. He was funny, he was informative, he’s high energy, he’s got a great following.”
“I definitely want him back, and I would hate to see him not come back. He’s going to want a shot to redeem himself,” Mark added. Most recently, Deadline reported that Steve had received an invitation to return as the host of the 2016 Miss Universe pageant.
In a separate interview, one of the 2015 Miss Univers pageant judges, Perez Hilton, said that the idea of Steve returning to the show was really good for ratings. “I think Steve Harvey should definitely come back,” Perez said. “It would be great for ratings.”
Of Steve’s blunder, Perez said, “You can’t blame Steve Harvey for everything,” he said. “I blame him for most of it but the pageant also has to accept accountability.” The blogger also admitted, “I don’t know if he was truly paying attention to the show… It was apparent to all of us that Philippines was the winner.”
