‘I Have Great Influence On Wizkid,” – Wande Coal Reveals

Black Diamond Artiste – Wande Coal has revealed that he has a heavy influence on the personality and music done by Star Boy, Wizkid.

Speaking with Punch Newspaper, Wande Coal noted that though he has influenced the kind of music Wizkid and his counterpart, Davido sing, he is a bigger influence on Wizkid than Davido.

“I have influenced the music of both Wizkid and Davido but the person with whom I went through a lot with and greatly influenced is Wizkid. I don’t think anybody should blame Wizkid for whatever action he takes.”

Continuing, he said, ‘I know Wizkid very well and I know that he learns from everything. He is a great kid and I love him a lot. He is my brother and that is why he calls my name in his songs. We bonded. With David, I feel he is a good artiste…” he said

BREAKING: APC Puts Yahaya Bello’s Nomination On Hold, Calls For Emergency Meeting

The APC Secretariat in Abuja has it that the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has put on hold the nomination of Yahaya Bello as the governorship candidate of the party in the coming re-run in the state.

The party has consequently called for an emergency “stakeholders” meeting for 3pm with the aim of resolving impasse.

Boko Haram abducts more girls in Borno

An unspecified number of girls have reportedly been abducted by Boko Haram members after an attack in Bam Village which is about 7 kilometres away from Buratai village, the hometown of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai in Borno state.

A resident of Bam village, Ali Bam told The Nigerian Tribune that the sect members arrived their village in the early hours of yesterday November 29th, shooting and setting the place on fire. Four people were killed while an unspecified number of girls were abducted.

BREAKING! Controversy As Faleke Picks Abubakar Audu’s Son As Running Mate

The running mate to the late Prince Abubakar Audu in the November 21 governorship election in the state, Mr James Faleke, has vowed to reclaim the mandate of the people of the state given freely to the APC during the election.

Faleke who has been picked as the substitute for the late Abubakar Audu, made this assertion while addressing hundreds of APC supporters in Lokoja on Monday.

Quoting a section of the constitution while picking Mohammed Audu as his running mate, he pointed out that attempts to snatch power from the reins of the APC in Kogi State were fruitless as the party is poised to chart a new course for the state.

He explained that there is no contention between him and the immediate political family of late Abubakar Audu and described the task ahead as a moral burden on him to fight on, till the victory of APC is accomplished.

Going back to the primary election conducted on August 28, 2015, he noted that he remained the only person holding on to the votes cast for the APC.

Some APC leaders from the three senatorial districts of the state were present as Mr Faleke made his decision known to his supporters.

For Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe, popularly known as Wande Coal, it’s been a long time coming on his music career. After five years of dropping his debut album, Mushin 2 Mo’ hits (M2M), the singer has now followed it up with an 18-tracker entitled, Wanted.

Released on his own Black Dia­mond label, Wanted is currently mak­ing waves as no day passes without it being played on the radio. In this chat with Entertainer, he talks about the album and how he handles scandals among other issues. Enjoy.

Why did it take you five years to release your second album?

I was in Mo’Hits, the company dissolved in 2011. I was left alone to choose and I moved with Don Jazzy without a contract, just because of love. As an artiste, I felt it was okay to go with a producer. We started working on the album but we didn’t agree on contract, so I had to move on. And that means I had to start all over again, writing new songs and get new producers. That’s why it took this long.

Why did you title the album Wanted? Has anyone declared you wanted?

I have been dropping singles but it wasn’t just enough, people have been asking for my album. This is why I titled it ‘Wanted’. This album cuts across all demographics. I feel this album is my own creativity and personal growth. I have been planning to work with Tuface, and on this al­Bvm, I worked with Tubaba. I worked with eight producers on this album. I believe it’s a great album.

How long did he take you to cook an 18-track album?

Two years. Like I told you, I already had the album, but I had to start all over. I had to write new songs.

Why do you always avoid the press? Are you publicity shy?

I love the press. I am not running away from the press. But to create music is a difficult thing, I’m done now so I’m back fully.

Are you a celebrity at home?

I am not a celebrity at home.

What is it that people don’t know about Wande Coal?

Wande is a funny guy. He likes to be happy. He is a lovable person and there is never a dull moment when he is around.

What made you cry when you had a scandal in the early days of your career?

As a human being, the different news stories that come out will affect you. But I feel you have to get up immediately. I don’t care about what has happened. I just learn from my mistakes and make sure I become a better person. I picked up myself and recreated myself.

What would you have done differently?

I wish I had known the things I know now from that time. The way I did it then, I based every­thing on love, back in those days. I should have put business into it. Everything was based on love and friendship.

So, you are not going to do that again?

I think ev­erything in life teaches you a les­son. You don’t let off your guards.

What is music to you?

Music is ev­erything to me. For example, I wouldn’t be here today without my music. That is what brought me out.

Wizkid and Da­vido look up to you. Isn’t it?

I love their music, but the only person that I can say we went through a lot together and have major interest in is Wizkid. He has learnt and I think he is a great kid. I love him to death. He is my brother. Davido is doing his own thing. In the game, there is going to be friction at some point. People have to understand that music is competitive.

What about your mixtape with Wizkid?

My mixtape with Wizkid is coming out after this album. He is dropping an EP (Extended Play) and we will work on the mixtape

Nigerian Customs Destroy Smuggled Frozen Products Worth N11.56m

The Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operation Unit, Zone C, says it has destroyed 1,365 cartons of imported frozen products valued at N11.56m in Benin.

The Comptroller of Zone C, Victor Dimka disclosed this in a statement today. According to the statement, the products were destroyed on Saturday at the NSC office in Benin after they were seized on Thursday by men of the NCS in the Benin-Ekiadolor area of Edo at about 1.00 p.m.

1,205 cartons of the seized cartons contained imported frozen poultry products, valued at N9.6 million while the remaining 160 cartons contained frozen fish estimated at about N1.9 million.

T.B. Joshua, Others To Be Arraigned In Court On Monday Over Death Of 116 Persons

The Lagos State Government has concluded plans to arraign Pastor TB Joshua and other trustees of ‎Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) on Monday, November 30, 2015.

They are to be arraign before a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja over the collapse of a six-story building in the church on September 12, 2014, which led to the death of 116 persons.

The trustees will be arraigned before Justice Lawal Akapo alongside the engineers who constructed the collapsed building.

A statement by the Deputy Director, Public Affairs of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Bola Akingbade, confirmed the scheduled arraignment.

It would be recalled that Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court in Lagos had dismissed the fundamental human rights enforcement suits filed by the engineers who constructed the collapsed six-storey building to stop their planned trial.

The engineers, Oladele Ogundeji and Akinbela Fatiregun, had filed two separate suits before Justice Buba seeking an order restraining the police from inviting, arresting or prosecuting them over the victims’ death.

The Lagos State Government had set up a Coroner Inquest to unravel what went wrong, and in a verdict delivered on August 7, 2015, Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe, the Coroner, indicted the engineers and recommended them for investigation and prosecution for criminal negligence.

The church building, a guest house, collapsed in September 2014, killing 116 people, many of them South Africans who travelled to Nigeria for the church’s service in Lagos.

The inquiry sat for months and set July 8 for its ruling.

It is beginning to unfold how risky and dangerous it is for Nigeria that Buhari doubles as president and the petroleum minister. As the president, he already has too much on his plate with too many issues pulling the country towards collapse. From the north, Boko Haram is threatening to drag the whole country down a cliff, and if nothing is done pretty soon, we are going to have a situation in our hands with the Biafra movement. It is already a keg of gunpowder waiting to explode in our faces. The business of armed robbery has never been as lucrative as it is today. The economy is another area that calls for the president’s urgent attention. But what do we have? A president who has more-or-less assumed the role of a jack of all trade while doing nothing in particular. The president should resign as the minister of petroleum immediately if we are ever going to have sanity in the petroleum industry. What we need is a petroleum minister who is saddled with no other responsibility outside his ministry. Take for instance the negotiations with the petroleum marketers; it could have been better handled with more urgency knowing that the people are seriously suffering as a result of the slow pace of negotiations. I don’t understand how the president wants to be personally involved in negotiations with oil marketers and at the same time travel all over the world from one summit to another. He should understand that the masses don’t care that much about the bottlenecks in these negotiations; all we want is to be able to drive into a filling station and buy fuel at any time of the day or year.

Secondly, is APC still the opposition party? Because responding to every jibe from PDP doesn’t speak of a party who has come to terms with being a ruling party. What I see here is that the APC never thought in its wildest dreams that Goodluck Jonathan would lose in the last election and as a result, they weren’t prepared for the responsibility of ruling. The PDP left us in a total mess and would love nothing more than seeing APC fail. APC should put aside their lyrical battle with PDP and fix the issues facing this country or be seen as another party that failed us. APC should understand that elections shouldn’t be a win at all cost affairs. The choice of late Abubakar Audu as the party’s governorship candidate for Kogi State beats me. A man who had already been twice governor of the state from January 1992 until November 1993 and from 29th May 1999 to May 2003? Was it that Audu performed so well in his previous spells as governor of the state that APC chose to bring him back? I keep wondering what the party’s “change” philosophy is all about. As we speak, Bayelsa State is having another former governor as APC candidate for the coming governorship election in the state. May God save us all from desperate political parties.

INEC should explain to us why politicians are allowed to contest for elective positions in two different states. We have seen politicians lose primaries in one state and move to another state and get elected. Isn’t it confusing that Solomon Olamilekan alias YAYI contested for Lagos West senatorial seat after previously registering to contest for Ogun West senatorial district? And now, Faleke, who was a chairman of Ojodu local government and was also a member of Lagos State House of Representatives may emerge as the governor of Kogi State. INEC, please explain to us how this is possible ooo!!!.Finally, the Federal government must insist that an autopsy is conducted on Audu’s corpse. We have to quell this rumour of foul play making the rounds or prove that he died of natural cause. Those who will argue that he was a Muslim and was buried in accordance with Muslim laws should understand that this is not a matter for religious sentiments. Audu was contesting an election and the speculation surrounding his death can be exploited to throw the state into chaos. INEC and the Federal Government must insist that an autopsy be carried out on his corpse to be clear.

Osun State Is Now A Failed State, Received Only 55 Million In FG Allocation

Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Areg­besola has said that all States must look in­ward for survival as funds com­ing to them from the federation account can no longer support their development projects.
He said, “We must at this point tell ourselves the truth, there is no money coming from the Federa­tion account, 34 million barrels of Nigeria’s crude oil are on the sea without buyers”.

“Money coming from the Fed­eration Account has dipped seri­ously and our hope for survival is in our hands, what our forefathers lived on was agriculture.

“We must now go back to the farms and work. We also need to pay our taxes so that government can meet its responsibilities”.

“For September, our state got N55.8 million. The money we received cannot pay for the power supply by Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) that we use at the state Secretariat monthly”, The Governor lamented.

Pastor In EFCC Net For N200m Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested one Jonathan Ibinabo Alatoru,  a self-acclaimed pastor and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Chemtronics Nigeria Limited,  for conspiracy, forgery and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N200m (Two Hundred Million Naira).

The suspect, who had earlier jumped bail granted him by the Commission, was arrested by operatives of EFCC in a sting operation on Thursday, November 26, 2015 in Abuja.

The 55-year-old suspect had been awarded a contract by the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Abuja for the construction of a skill acquisition centre at Igualeba, Orhiomwon LGA, in Edo State, to the tune of N1.7billion.

The contract, which was supposed to be completed within a year, was, however, terminated in 2011 when he could not complete the structure 18 months after.

However, the suspect allegedly approached Sterling Bank Plc with some documents purported to have emanated from the Ministry to secure a N200m bank facility.

In fulfillment of the requirements to obtain the bank facility, the suspect allegedly presented both the Certificate of Occupancy, C of O, of a property located in the G.R.A., Ikeja area of Lagos and another mortgage agreement letter as collateral in 2012.

Investigation, however, revealed that both documents belong to the late Vice-Admiral Babatunde Elegbede, a former military Governor of Cross Rivers State, who who died in 1994.

According to the complainant, the suspect also allegedly presented a forged domiciliation payment letter, stating that the proceeds of the contract should be remitted to the bank for the servicing of the loan.

It was also discovered that the suspect allegedly connived with one Ndubuisi Egbe Unah, who is currently facing trial before a Federal High Court, Abuja, and some staff of the bank to perpetrate the alleged fraud.

The suspect will soon be charged to court.

Police Arrest Father For Beating 7-Year-Old Son To Death, Feeding His Remains To Pigs

Michael Jones of Kansas City, who was arrested for attacking his wife, has also been suspected by the police of feeding his 7-year-old son to pigs after beating him to death.

When Jones, 44, was first held on suspicions of assaulting his wife at their home and firing a gun at her, police didn’t suspect they would make a shocking discovery at the home he shared with his wife and kids.

Acting on a tip off, the police detectives searched the family’s backyard in Wyandotte County, where they found the decomposing remains of their missing son.

Local women, who knew the family, said the couple had eight children, but their son had gone missing earlier this year. They also claimed Jones’ wife added livestock to the barn in September.

“Their house was horrible”, WSFA.com quoted an anonymous woman as saying. “Their house was just filthy. The kids lived in filth. Trash everywhere. Dried food all over the house”.

It was also learnt that former babysitters, who worked for the family, revealed that several people reached out to the Kansas Department for Children and Families with concerns about the Jones children.

The seven other children are believed to be safe and in protective custody.

According to a police source, investigators fear the remains are the result of the child being fed to pigs after being beaten to death although the remains have yet to be identified.

The police have now charged Jones with battering and assaulting his wife on Wednesday and also with “torturing or cruelly beating” his 7-year-old son sometime between May 1 and Sept. 28.

He is expected to make his first appearance in Wyandotte County District Court tomorrow.

Co-convener of the Save Nigeria Group (SNG) and outspoken cleric, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has urged Nigerians to turn to God as it is now becoming clear that the All Progressives Congress-led federal government is helpless in adequately confronting the multi-faceted challenges currently bedeviling the country.

This is just as he declared that the coast had become clear for him to start baring his mind on topical issues, after remaining silent on some national issues for some time.

Bakare, who is the serving overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Lagos, spoke while leading the church congregation in a prayer session for the country on Sunday.

According to the fiery preacher, the current situation in the country is an indication that the current administration did not have a ready-made solution to the problems ravaging the country.

He specifically expressed worry that key officials of the APC had started giving excuses why the promised change might take longer than expected.

Pastor Bakare, who was President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate in the 2007 presidential election under the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), was reacting to comments by the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai that Nigeria’s problems had become more complicated than human beings could solve.

“I need to call your attention to the comments made by my brother and governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai, who said Nigeria had sunk deeper than any human being can redeem. If the people in government, who promised us change can say this, then where does our hope lie?

“So, you can begin to wonder where the nation is heading towards. The PDP couldn’t do it, the people who promised change, have started saying the nation’s problems are deeper than human beings could solve. Who do you turn to to solve our problems?” Bakare asked the congregation rhetorically.

He added that “What they are saying is that we should turn to God to solve our problems. What we know is that Nigeria will work in our own time”.

While leading the congregation in prayers, Bakare asked God to strengthen those who had genuine intention to govern the country, praying that those whose major purpose was to enlarge their “empires should be removed”.

On the Chibok schoolgirls, who have spent over 590 days in Boko Haram captivity, the cleric slammed past and present governments for not giving their rescue all the seriousness it deserved.

He further expressed outrage that government had failed to rescue the abducted schoolgirls because their parents were not high government officials or connected to persons in places of authority.

Pastor Bakare stated that getting solution to the nation’s problem is becoming a herculean task as those saddled with leadership positions do not have answers to where the missing girls are located, adding that if the schoolgirls’ parents were top government officials, they would have known what they can do to rescue them.

“We are praying that God will send confusion to the midst of the girls’ captors that they would be set free”, Bakare added

Ghanaian Actress Wearing 4 Waist Trainers Collapses at Mall in Accra – Story is FALSE

Yesterday, this story went viral and now, the said actress has put up a statement on her IG page that this story about her is false.
According to reports online, aspiring Ghanaian actress who has been identified as Moesha Boduong reportedly fell flat on her bum yesterday afternoon while window shopping at Ghana’s biggest mall-West Hills.

Despite the West Hills mall known for offering cheap designer products, such as selling authentic LV bags for 68GHS—Moesha Boduong spent almost two hours moving from one shop to another without buying anything, the CCTV cameras shown.

Flaunting a tiny waist and a humongous bum with a handbag in her hand, Moesha collapsed just in front of the MAC shop—with several bystanders rushing to help her.
A male shopper who tried resuscitating her came to the conclusion after his first press that—the Moesha was somewhat a dummy, since her chest area right down to her stomach was as hard as a Pig Farm tea bread.

With the help of two women, Moesha was carried into a near by shop as they waited for an ambulance.

After 2 hours of waiting for the ambulance which was said to have been stuck in traffic, caused by a ‘trotro’ left in the middle of the road with the driver having disappeared with an empty gallon to buy some fuel—the two women decided to check what was the cause of the strange body stiffness.

Shockingly, when Moesha’s stripy maxi dress was taken off—she was seen wearing 4 waist trainers, one by one they were all taken off.
The moment the last one was ripped off her body, she jumped up—asking, what happened? After she was told of what had happened, she said she was fine and did not need any medical attention.

However, there was another problem; one of her 4 waist trainers had disappeared with one of the women who helped in carrying her into the shop suspected to have ‘vanished’ with the waist trainer.
The waist trainer theft was reported to Kasoa Central Police station.

Kasoa Police station quickly erected a barrier, intending to search and confiscate from women travelling between Kasoa and Mallam any waist trainer they would find. They thought it was going to be a cool catch.

But so far, we are told 3,000 waist trainers have been confiscated from the 3020 women who have traveled between the barrier range—some women were wearing as much as 5 waist trainers.
