When I Was In Prison, I Had Joy – OBJ

Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo said that joy was something he didn’t lack while serving his jail time during the Abacha regime.

OBJ said this during the 50th anniversary of the Bible Society of Nigeria which was held at the Muson Centre, Onikan, La‎gos.

Recall that Olusegun Obasanjo was jailed 21 years ago by the late General Abacha for being part of the coup to take power from him.
Obadanjo was later released in 1998 and became a democratically elected president in 1999.

“When I was in prison, I had joy. I was always bubbly, teaching and preaching to other prisoners. ‎It was because of the joy I had found in God, although it can be said to be abnormal that one is in prison and is happy. I was put in jail, even though I didn’t deserve it” Obj said.
